Hey 👋🏼 I’m Aoife, mam to almost one-year-old Finny and an Early Intervention Specialist with over a decade of experience supporting young children’s development.

Throughout my career, particularly working with autistic children and those who experience the world a little differently, I have seen first-hand how powerful the right environment can be. The early years, especially between 1 and 3, are such an important window for social connection, confidence building and learning through play. Yet there are very few calm, developmentally supportive spaces designed specifically for this age group.

The idea for The Soft Spot originally began with rentals. After seeing how much Finny loved soft play, I wanted to create something safe and joyful for babies and toddlers at parties. Something just for them. But very quickly, parents began asking if there would be a permanent space. The more messages I received, the more I realised the real need was not just for equipment, but for an environment than felt calm and safe.

The Soft Spot Studio was created to be exactly that.

As both a professional and a mam, safety is non-negotiable for me. Every set in the Studio is made from IGLU® premium soft play and placed on Toddlekind® safety mats. All are non-toxic, BPA-free, phthalate-free, lead-free and PVC-free. The space is sanitised every hour and deep cleaned daily because parents should never have to question what their child is crawling on.

Just as important as physical safety is emotional safety.

The Studio is intentionally small and exclusive. No overwhelming crowds. No 100 children running in every direction. Just a calm, thoughtfully designed environment where your toddler can explore at their own pace. A place where children who may find larger centres overstimulating can feel comfortable and confident.

It is also a space for parents. A place to meet, connect or simply sit for a moment while your child plays happily nearby.

While we still offer limited rentals, the Studio is truly the heart of The Soft Spot now. It is shaped by both professional experience and motherhood, built to support families in a way that feels calm, safe and genuinely considered.
